He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Melba Thomas. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Beverly Guin Thomas; his children, Dr. Rachel Thomas and Heath (Brittany)Thomas; two grandchildren, Truitt and Turner Thomas; and a brother, Lester (Debi)Thomas, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Paul graduated from the University of Alabama in 1973, and earned a Master’s Degree from AUM in 1979. He worked for the State of Alabama Personnel Department for 38 years and retired as Deputy Director in 2012. He enjoyed coaching his children in baseball and soccer and was awarded the US Youth Soccer Association Region III Girls Coach of the Year in 1997.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018, at Leak Memory Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
