Patricia Cole Geiger, age 69, of Montgomery, Alabama died on June 25, 2013 at her residence. Patty was born in Barton, New York, December 21, 1943, to Robert and Alice Munn Cole. She spent her childhood in the State College and Boalsburg areas and her teen years in Lewisburg. After graduation from Lewisburg High School. she initially worked for Pennsylvania State University and then spent much of her adult life as a devoted U.S. Air Force spouse, living in the United States and abroad. She and her husband, Colonel Keith Geiger, USAF (Ret), eventually settled in Montgomery, Alabama some 30 years ago, where she enjoyed a successful career in real estate, before retiring as Vice President of Aronov Home Rentals in 2007.
In 1973, she was honored as an Outstanding Young Woman of America for contributions to the military in Operation Homecoming (the repatriation the U.S. Vietnam POWs), and for her efforts in the local schools in Hawaii. Patty was a talented singer, musician, painter, and a dog lover. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, singing for charity events with her high school band-mates (The Fabulous Spastics), and cheering on the Penn State football team in the Fall.
Patty is survived by her husband, Keith, her daughters Suzie Wells, Colleen Gold, Erin Malinowski, and Jameela Nikolich, and a son Kurt Geiger; also surviving are 11 grandchildren and her brother Wayne Cole. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Boalsburg. Burial will be later this summer at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
