Florence Olivia Moore Richardson, “Libby”, age 89, passed away on April 26, 2018 at her home surrounded by her children. She is predeceased by her parents, Blewster S. and Lillian D. Moore, husband of 48 years, Marvin Ernest Richardson, Jr., sisters and brothers Doris Moore, Idolene Adams, Blewster S. Moore, Jr. “Buddy” and Johnny Moore. Born in Terrell Co., Georgia on November 5, 1928, her family moved many times with her father’s job but she always claimed Midway, Alabama as her home and graduated from Union Springs High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, spending time with her family and friends and serving her church and community. Libby was a charter member of Normandale United Methodist and later a member of Whitfield Memorial United Methodist when the two churches merged. She taught at Whitfield Kindergarten from 1969-1998. Libby and Ernest raised two adoring children, Marvin Richardson (Susan), Montgomery, AL and Jan Cross (Johnny) of Hartselle, AL. She leaves to cherish their wonderful memories with her as grandmother and great grandmother, Charles Richardson (Ivy), Richard Richardson (Madi), Montgomery, AL, Megan Moral (Jonathan), Hartselle, AL and Sarah Miller (Austin), Elkmont, AL, Livvie, Grant, Lucy, Hampton, Blu, Worth and Whitley. Many special thanks and our forever gratitude to Pamela Tolliver for her dedication and loving care to our mother for the past 7 yrs. and her Amedysis Hospice team, Beverly and Natasha. A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Whitfield Memorial United Methodist Church at 2:00PM, with visitation 1 hr. prior to the service. Graveside to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Keystone Sunday School Class, Johnny Cross, Mike and John Moore, Mike and Tim Adams, Dr. Reuben C. Richardson and Steve Wilson.
