She was born June 9, 1934, in Loyall, Kentucky, to the late Verlin and Thelma Robbins. In 1942, she moved with her parents to Montgomery, Alabama. She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1952 and resided thereafter in Montgomery until her death.
Ms. Robbins was an accomplished self-taught artist who preferred working with oil paint and she had her paintings displayed at numerous art venues around Montgomery. She loved flowers and spent many hours in the flower gardens she painted in her backyard. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church and served on the church staff before gaining employment with the State of Alabama where she administered the Bar Exam for upcoming lawyers.
Ms. Robbins is survived by her brother, Arnold Robbins, of Vicksburg, Mississippi. She is further survived by a nephew, Edward Robbins II, and other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Robbins and Stephen Robbins, and an infant sister, Phyllis Robbins.
A graveside for Norma will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 2 PM at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial funds have been established in her name for First Baptist Church.
