Myrna Elizabeth Hancock Bell was born 22 January 1932 to Ethridge and Mabel (Roberts) Scott in Greensboro, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ronald Morgan Scott and Larry Richard Scott, and her loving husband of 51 years, Julian Davis Hancock, and her loving husband of over ten years, James Roland Bell. She is survived by her son, Michael David Hancock (Barbara) of Milton, FL; her daughter, Michelle Hancock English (Paul, Jr.) of Enterprise, AL; five grandchildren: Tracy Hancock Yowell (Dr. Charles) of Tallahassee, FL; Paul L. (Luke) Ill of Anniston, AL; David English of Warner Robins, GA; Cheryl Hancock Underwood (Shane) of Harrison,, TN; Anne-Marie English Poland (Russell) of Roswell, GA; twelve great-grandchildren, Whitney, Connor, Lindsey, Duncan, Alyssa, Audrey, Tristan, Maela, Greyson, Mya, Charlotte, and Vivienne; sisters-in-law Glenda White (Jack), Quincy, FL; Maria Cannon, Eastpoint, FL; and Helen Bell, Cumming, GA, and many special nieces and nephews.
A long time resident of Montgomery, Myrna loved gardening, and served in various positions in Canterbury Bells Garden Club, as well as President of Montgomery Federation of Garden Clubs 1986-87. Nothing brought more joy than sharing plants or cuttings to share with friends and neighbors. She also served in her churches in FL, GA, and AL over the years. She especially loved her Sunday School Class at Eastmont Baptist Church, Montgomery. She loved her family dearly, and they loved and cherished her. Many thanks for the loving care Mom received for the past five years at Elba Nursing and Rehabilitation in Elba, AL, and by Southern Care Hospice the past two weeks.
A family and friends visitation for Myrna will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastmont Baptist Church, 4505 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery 36109, or to Faith Radio, 381 Mendel Pkwy, Montgomery, 36117-5741, or the charity of your choice.
