Maxine Jones Baker, 84, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away July 6, 2020 after an extended illness. Mrs. Baker, daughter of the late Alto and Lonnie Lee Jones, was born March 7, 1936 in Coffee County, AL.
She graduated from Judson College and Auburn University, before teaching many years in public and private schools in Montgomery and Union Springs, AL. Mrs. Baker was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery where she was involved in many ministries over the years.
She is survived by her granddaughters Emma Baker, Molly Baker Mitchell (Andrew), and Cloe Baker; her son, Chuck Baker (Felicia); and her sisters Jeannie Phillips (Ed) and Annette Herrington (Roy). Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her son, Andy Baker; brother, John Jones; and sisters, Eloise Andress and Bobbie Scott.
