Memory Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with burial at Greenwood
Cemetery with graveside service immediately following. Claude Flynn will be officiating. Mary was
preceded in death by her father, Joseph William Singleton, and her infant daughter, Anna Elizabeth
Bennett. She was a member of Tenth Street church of Christ, Opelika, AL, where she taught Sunday
School for many years. She graduated from the University of Montevallo with a degree in Elementary
Education. She was a dedicated volunteer at Timothy Manor in Opelika and loved sharing her time
with the elderly residents there. She devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. Mary
is survived by: her husband of 40 years, Rufus Edward Bennett, and her children, Nathaniel (Cindy)
Bennett, Abigail Bennett and Timothy Bennett; grandchildren Tray Bennett, Annalissa Bennett, Maren
Robinson and John Matthew Robinson; her mother, Mary Graham Singleton; her five siblings, Patricia
(Carl) McCullers, Joseph (Brenda) Singleton, Jr., Rebecca (Jack) Rogers, Ben Singleton, Tina (Stan)
Foster. Pallbearers are Austin Singleton, Temple Anderson, Tray Bennett, Daniel Bennett, Jonathan Bennett, Clint
McCullers, Benjamin Singleton and Andy Ramsey (Honorary). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
