Marjorie E. Gray, 92, returned to her heavenly home, where she is reunited with her beloved husband and son on February 19, 2017. Her devotion to her family and her firm believe in God supported her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Marjorie was born to the late Henry and Ruth Jackson on July 25, 1924. She was blessed with a large and loving family. She married Harry Gray on April 2, 1944 and raised their son Harry R. Gray.
Marjorie loved to read, play cards, and have parties. She was kind and soft spoken, and always gave her time to listen and talk to friends and family. She truly loved her church family at Valley Park Baptist Church. But most of all, Marjorie loved her friends, neighbors, and family. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
Marjorie is survived by her grandchildren, Michael (Kimberly) Gray, Shannon (Shawn Ramsey) Blount, Nicki Igoe, Matthew Gantner, and Jonathan Gantner; her brother, Clayton (Chris) Jackson; her sister, Nina (Earl) Wiggins; her great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and other family members.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 5-7pm in the chapel of White Chapel Funeral Home located at 909 Lincoln Rd. Montgomery, Al. The Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11:00am in the sanctuary of Valley Park Baptist Church located at 3820 Woodley Rd. Montgomery, Al. Brother Jim Wilson will be officiating. Burial in Greenwood Serenity Cemetery immediately following Celebration of Life Service.
