Margaret Louise (Tisdale) Parrish went to be with our Lord on January 20, 2018 at age 99. She was a devoted mother and “Nana” and “Grandmom” and loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved her years at First Baptist Church Montgomery and Normandale Baptist Church where she taught second-grade Sunday School for over 35 years.
Born in Brantley, Alabama, Louise was the third of six children born to Ollie B. and Ina Mae Tisdale. Nicknamed “Toddy” in her childhood years, she was known for her wit, charm, humor, and “Brantleyisms” - sayings unique to her upbringing and southern culture. Named valedictorian of Brantley High School, Louise went on to graduate from Massey-Draughon Business College of Montgomery.
Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Wiley Monroe Parrish, Jr., Louise is survived by her sons, James Wiley (Sherry) Parrish and David Tisdale (Vickie) Parrish; Grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Corbitt, James (Deena) Parrish, Jr., Brooke (Wes) Phillips, Lacey (Justin) Moody, Taylor Shaw, Courtney (Turner) Faulkner, Whitney (William) Sheffield, Margaret (Kurt) Branch; Great Grandchildren, Jake and Brooke Corbitt, Blakely, Abigail, and Margaret Parrish, Jackson and Charles Branch, Camp and Collier Phillips, Parrish Moody, John Turner Faulkner, Will and Winston Sheffield.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Leak-Memory Chapel in Montgomery, Alabama followed by a graveside memorial at Greenwood Cemetery.
