Makenzie, a native of Montgomery, was born to Thomas (Andy) Martin and Kimberly Martin on May 5, 1994. She graduated in 2012 from Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School where she was a three sport athlete and a member of the National Honor Society. She attended college at the University of Alabama and later Auburn University Montgomery. Makenzie was a beautiful, fun-loving young woman, with a smile and laugh that were contagious. She was a talented artist and a friend to everyone she met.
Makenzie was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Clarence and Helen Edmiston of Solvang, CA, and John C. Sr. and Estelle Lauer, of Baltimore, MD; and paternal grandfather, Ronald F. Martin.
She is survived by her loving parents, Andy and Kim Martin; her brother, Dylan Martin; grandparents, John C. Lauer, Jr., Sherry and Walt Dzialo, and Ruby A. Martin; and many other extended family including, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
A Visitation will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m., with Father Patrick Driscoll officiating. A reception in the Parish Hall will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Makenzie’s name has been set up at The Montgomery Humane Society, as she so loved animals.
