Lindley Jean Sellars was born April 6, 1982 in Montgomery, Alabama where she spent her entire life. She attended Alabama Christian Academy where she enjoyed basketball and volleyball. Lindley was amazing at art, loved to read and could do anything she put her mind to.
About Lindley:
Lindley had the most generous heart and was the type to give you the shirt off her back, or buy you one (or three) because she loved shopping. Lindley had a passion for pets, especially cats. She always said she was going to be the “crazy cat lady” when she was old. She genuinely loved people and loved them hard. She was kind and thoughtful and loved to give little gifts and write cards. It didn’t have to be a special occasion, she just loved making people feel special and loved.
Lindley never talked negatively about people and never held a grudge. She was always so positive about people and when someone was sad, she was as well. She always offered a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. She was a great friend to have.
Lindley was a Christian and loved God. She was always writing down scriptures, sermon notes and quotes in her journals. Lindley had overcome many obstacles in her life, one of the biggest struggles was her mental illness. She fought her illness the best way she could and had come so far. She leaned on her faith and family to cope as best she could during the tough moments.
She also loved her church, Dalraida Church of Christ, and her church family. Cindy Reynolds held a special place in Lindley’s heart and was one of her best friends. Lindley looked up to and thought the world of Cindy and our family can’t thank Cindy enough for the love and compassion she poured onto Lindley. Cindy was always so kind, picking Lindley up for church, taking her to lunch or calling to check on her.
Favorite Memories:
Lindley would say her favorite childhood memories were made in Seaside, Florida. We took family vacations there growing up and made so many amazing memories. From the beach, to fishing, searching for crabs at night, having treats at Dawson’s Yogurt and pizza from Bruno’s. If she could choose to go back in time, it would be during those moments.
