Linda Lord

Linda passed away on Saturday February 29, 2020. She was born to Douglas V. and C. M. “Maggie” Lord in Thomaston, GA on July 19, 1944. She was a graduate of R. E. Lee High School and attended Troy in Montgomery. She retired from the Montgomery County Probate Office. Linda was a member of the Capitol Heights United Methodist Church.

Linda was an active member of the Montgomery Gem and Mineral Society and expressed her love of the arts both through jewelry making, fashioning gem trees and painting in several media. Linda loved travel throughout the United States and internationally. She had a love of dogs, especially her long-time companion Bandit. She favored pet adoptions and frequently visited the Humane Shelter to play with and walk the dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by many cousins and the daughter of her heart, Phyllis Kyle of Louisiana.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of Angels for the Elderly and John Knox Manor for their kind care of Linda. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish to honor Linda's memory may make a donation in her name to the Montgomery Humane Society, 1150 John Overton Drive., Montgomery, AL. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetry.
