Larry John Wood, 68, passed away April 20, 2021 at his home. He was born in Alabama to Dolphus Dupree Wood and Essie Merle Brooks Wood. Preceded in death by his parents, Larry is survived by his children; David Wood and Christy Thornell, his grandchildren; Michael Harrison, Joshua Wood, Julianna Wood, Cayla White, Tiffany Eiland and Tori Eiland; 3 great grandchildren; his brothers and sister, Patricia Spivey of Titus, Kenny (Janet) Wood of Wetumpka, Floyd Tommy (Wanda) Wood of Eclectic, Richard (Terry) Wood of Wetumpka and Doug (Dondra) Wood of Montgomery. He was especially fond of his caregiver and niece, LeAnn (John) Holliday of Montgomery.
A member of Fannin Road Baptist Church, Larry will be remembered for his outgoing personality and gregarious spirit. A Nascar Fan and a car salesman, he was quick to share his favorites.
A visitation for Mr. Wood is set for Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 10:00 am with a Celebration of Life service slated for 11:00 am. Services will conclude with a committal at Montgomery Memorial Gardens, 3001 Simmons Drive, Montgomery, AL 36108.
Pallbearers will be Doug Wood, Richard Wood, Floyd Tommy Wood, Curt Wood, John Holliday and Fred Holliday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Fannin Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 3525 Fannin Rd., Montgomery, AL 36108. Online condolences may be shared at: www.Leak-MC.com.
