John Kenton Poole of Montgomery, AL passed away December 28, 2022 at thirty-two (32) years of age after a brief illness. Kenton battled cerebral palsy from birth but exemplified strength, courage and perseverance throughout his life.
Mr. Kenton Poole was born on July 17, 1990 in Montgomery, AL where he attended Montgomery Public Schools as well as Children’s Center of Montgomery. He was a founding attendee of Children’s Center Adult Program located in Montgomery off Madison Avenue. Throughout his early life, Kenton enjoyed school, First Baptist Church children’s choir and attending various sporting and musical events throughout the Southeast. His infectious smile beamed as he visited Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Auburn Football, Braves Baseball, Disney World, The Biltmore, and most frequently Callaway Gardens. These adventures with family and local visits to The Montgomery Zoo invoked pure exuberance of life for Kenton.
Kenton is preceded in death by his father, Mark Kenton Poole, of Montgomery, his grandparents Clifton and Margaret Poole of Gardendale, AL and Charles and Hazel Jones of Montgomery, AL. He is survived by his mother, Libby Poole of Montgomery, AL. Kenton leaves behind to cherish his memory brothers Bill (and Kellie Galloway) Davidson of Daphne, AL and Matthew (and Maureen Quinn) Davidson of Atlanta, Georgia. Surviving nephews and nieces include William, Hannah, Emily and Quinn Davidson. Aunts and Uncles include Becky Early of Topsill Beach, NC, Cheri Jewell of Ft. Worth, TX and Colby Poole of Vestavia Hills, AL. Cousins to Kenton include Katie Early Laymon of Wilmington, NC and Joseph Early of Ashville, NC, Eric Jewell of Farmer’s Branch, TX, Kenny Jewell of Ft. Worth, TX, and Jason Jewell of Ft. Worth, TX. Great Uncle James Jones with wife Nell survive Kenton as well. Each of these familial arms played integral roles in the nurturing and caring process for such an incredible young man of God.
We would like to thank the many caregivers through Answered Prayer and the greater extended family of love at First Baptist Church Montgomery, AL for their years of diligent support and Christian service to Kenton.
