Joyce Harris Stephens

Joyce was born on July 16, 1930 and died on October 26,2022 at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dale Harris, her two older brothers, Joe and Fred Harris and two husbands, Dink McCormack, and Jimmy Stephens. Joyce is survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins and a sister-in-law, Hazel.

Joyce grew up in Montgomery, Alabama. She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and attended Huntingdon College.

Joyce loved her church family and served faithfully at Evangel for decades. She was part of our Hospitality and Prayer ministries and in the early 1990’s helped to establish Evangel’s Food Bank along with her late husband Jimmy. Joyce also enjoyed being a part of our Primetimer fellowship and helping with bereavement meals. Joyce was always busy serving the community.

Joyce’s memorial service will be on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at 1:30 at Evangel Church, 3975 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, Alabama with Pastor Mike Rippy officiating.
