Pastor Johnny Jones and his wife, Kay, were one of the first pastors I knew when I was a teen. In a sense, Brother and Sister Jones were kind of like spiritual parents to me and they greatly influenced my Christian walk. They would pick me up for church many times before I learned to drive. As an older teen I was privilege to sing with the church ensemble, The Shaloms. Brother and Sister Jones were also instrumental on helping me to decide to attend Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, Florida and Pastor Jones and my husband's father Rev. Grant Daniel co-married my husband, Larry and I in 1979. I have very fond memories of the Joneses, Johnny, Kay, and Ginger at Bessemer First Assembly. Shane came along sometime after Larry and I were married and perhaps after I had my first child in 1981. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family since a loss here is so difficult though rejoice and know we will see our loved one again in Heaven.

So sorry to hear of Johnny's passing, Kay. We know he is rejoicing with our Savior! You both made forever impressions of Christ upon our lives and we will love you forever. Our paths went in different directions but our God accompanied us both. We hold so many wonderful memories of our time spent with you and the wonderful Alabama District Council family! About two months ago, having no knowledge of Johnny's passing, I tried to reach out to you both. Guess my message never made it to you. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Memories from Morris & Gridley St. Pastor Johnny and you Kay were so good to us youth. I'll never forget the drive to check out Lakeland College in Fla. You made us feel the love of Jesus through the lives you lived. I have thought of you often since the day you left for Bessemer. My prayers and condolences are with you. I would love to be in touch. So sorry to hear of Johnny's passing but glad for him to be in the presence of the Lord.  I finished High School with Johnny and always had a great deal of respect for him.  So proud he had such a positive impact on so many.  To God be the Glory.

I'll never forget Pastor Jones He was a wonderful pastor and man of God.I sat under his teachings in first Assembly for about 15 to 20 years He and his wife Kay were wonderful people and they loved God and never comprised the Word of God.

Pastor Jones was such a blessing to me and my daughter as well as my entire family.  We came to First Assembly in the early 90s.  Under his ministry, we all grew so much in the word of God as well as prayer. I remember Pastor Jones prayed with me and my family on many occasions concerning many family situations and we were greatly encouraged and saw many turnarounds. He really cared for the sheep that he was given to shepherd. I  remember those powerful Sunday night services with the fire tunnels. Many miracles occurred as a result for many in attendance. I also remember that dance Pastor Jones would do sometimes while preaching.  I Honor Pastor Jones and will always be so very thankful and grateful for the big impact that he had on my life and our family. I know he is rejoicing in heaven right now.  I know he will receive many crowns. My sincere condolences to Sister Kay, Pastor Greg & Ginger, Shane & Keysa as well as the entire family.

It was an honor to have served as one of the secretaries at Montgomery First Assembly of God during part of the time Pastor Jones was there. He will always hold a special place in my heart. He was truly a great man of God.  May God bless his precious family. 

Pastor Jones meant so much to my family, I will never forget the time I
in my life when I was away from my family and away from the Lord. When
I return to church, he came to me and said he had prayed for me every day
for one year. He always had time to take your call, go to the hospital or 
come to your house, in lost of love ones.  He truly pastored his flock and 
all the lost sheep that strayed from time to time. I know there must have 
been so many faces from First Assembly that greeted him as he entered 
the gates of glory. What a legacy he leaves behind, and a beautiful family 
to carry on. May God bless and comfort the family.
