John C. Townsend

John C. Townsend, 95, a resident of Montgomery, AL died Sunday, August 17, 2014. Mr. Townsend was preceded in death by his wife Elcathie B. Townsend, his parents John R. and Zita M. Townsend; his sister Gertrude Townsend and his son, John R. Townsend II. Mr. Townsend is survived by daughters Mary Higgins (John) of Reno, Nevada, Patricia Dalrymple (Bart) of Enid, Oklahoma, Patricia Lassmann of Montgomery, Alabama, and Shirley Rotton (Billy) of Pike Road, Alabama and son Bob Boone (Rosemary) of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; grandchildren, Dedin Higgins, Shannon Higgins, Casey Higgins, Cody Dalrymple, Jason Townsend, Brandon Townsend, Patrick Cook, Stephanie Lassiter, Steven Rotton, Shana Moore; great-grandchildren Caleb Dalrymple, Mattie Townsend, Jake Townsend, Cassie Townsend, Rachel Cook, Caden Cook, Cole Lassiter, Taylor Lassiter. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home, with graveside services following at 2:00pm in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors. The family would like to thank the staff at Angels for the Elderly for their love and care during his residency there.
