John Christian Schweers Jr.

John Christian Schweers, Jr., “Captain Jack” as he was affectionately known, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the age of 74. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many. He was a coach for 42 years, 24 of those at Trinity where he coached basketball and tennis. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Christian Schweers, Sr. and Ruby Herzog Schweers. He is survived by his loving wife, Teri Villar Schweers; son, Christian Schweers (Lou Ellen); daughter, Laurel Schweers; granddaughter, Olivia Schweers; Visitation will be held at Frazer UMC on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. John Ed Mathison officiating. Private burial will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Memorials can be made in his honor to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Research at www.lung.org
