

Joan was born on December 3,1939 in Jacksonville, Florida. She grew up in a loving home that nurtured her and instilled a passion to take care of others. After graduating from high school she married the love of her life, Jimmy Bishop and they started a family of their own.
Joan devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren as well as many, many more in her home daycare. She was known to most as Granny or Mama Joan. She opened her heart and her home to pour love and understanding into everyone who walked through her door. She loved all her babies, showing them the love of Christ through her care.
Sharing her faith in Jesus was her life's passion! She touched the lives of others with words of wisdom, love and the power of prayer. She planted and watered many lives that will bare fruit for generations to come.
Joan is survived by her children: Tim Bishop (Jane Bishop), Terrie Atchison ( Steve Atchison), and Tammie Bishop-Donaldson; her grandchildren: Matt Atchison, Sarah Ragland (Chandler Ragland), Chad Bishop (Amber Bishop), Chris Bishop, Amy Bishop, Clayton Bishop, JT Donaldson ( Aly Donaldson) , Emmie Enochs ( Dylan Enochs), and Lizzie Nohr ( Eric Nohr); her great grandchildren: Addison Ragland, Carson Bishop, Adeline Bishop, Alivia Bishop, Boone Enochs, Oakley Enochs, and Peyton Nohr; and her sister Shirley Morrison. She is preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Bishop.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM at Alabama Heritage on Monday November 13, 2023 to honor the life of Joan Bishop, and celebrate her arrival to heaven. She will be deeply missed by all her knew her.
