Jimmy Hicks, 91, passed away on March 29, 2024, at his home in Montgomery, Alabama. He was the husband of Edwina Hicks. The shared 40 years of faithful marriage together. After 29 years of her passing, they are finally reunited.
Born in Starlington, Alabama on May 31, 1932. He was the son of Sam and Chlora Hicks. He graduated Georgiana High School in 1950. He joined the United States Air Force in July of 1951 and served until July of 1955.
After an honorable discharge and upon returning to Montgomery, Alabama, he was employed with BellSouth (AT&T) where he served 40 years as a technician. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and served as the women's sunday school class secretary.
He enjoyed learning the gospel of Jesus Christ, fishing with his brother, Sam Hicks, grilling, picking up pecans, watching the Atlanta Braves, celebrating Alabama Crimson Tide victories, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be remembered for his gentle heart, sharp wit, patience in all aspects of his life, kindness to all that loved him, and his love for Jesus Christ.
Jimmy will be survived by his daughter, Susan Hicks, grandchildren Blake Boyden, Amanda Boyden, Nicholas Eubanks, and great granddaughter Mikaela, along with many nieces and nephews.
