Jerry Wayne Grier

Jerry Grier died Friday, January 27 in Luverne, Alabama. His friends and family will gather together to celebrate his life on Wednesday, February 1, 2017.

Mr. Grier is preceded in death by: his parents; Joseph Elisha Grier and Ethel Mae Grier, his siblings; Shirley A. Grier, James E. Grier and Linda G. Grier. He is survived by: his sister; Juanita G. Calloway, his nieces; Angela D. Calloway and Melanie J. Summers, as well as a grandnephew; Stephen D. Calloway.

He will be remembered as:

• Uncle Jerry

• Mostly an Alabama fan who changed his colors near the end

• One who never met a stranger and was born talking

He loved to bowl and even won a few trophies, but enjoyed teaching his nieces the basics of softball. Services are set for Wednesday, February 1, 2017. A visitation in the chapel of White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home will begin at 10:00 am with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am and interment in Greenwood Serenity Cemetery to follow.
