Jean Elizabeth Baranowski

Jean Elizabeth (MacDonald) Baranowski, age 76, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of September 23, 2021 due to complications from her 33 year struggle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Jeannie was born on January 25, 1945 in Rockland, Massachusetts. She graduated from Rockland High School in 1963. In 1967, Jeannie graduated from Bridgewater State College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She earned a Master of Education and a Reading Specialist Degree from Auburn University Montgomery in Alabama. Jeannie married Bronislaw Frank Baranowski on June 18, 1967. They had 2 children, Jeffrey Neil and Tara Elizabeth.

Jeannie was a member of First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. She gives thanks to the Church for its prayers and support during her long illness.

Jeannie was the daughter of Avis and Melvin MacDonald of Rockland, Massachusetts and later Wareham, Massachusetts. Jeannie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lt. Col. Bronislaw Baranowski, USAF retired, her son Jeffrey Baranowski of Prattville, Alabama, her daughter Tara Edwards (John Benson) and precious granddaughter Bailey Elizabeth Woods of Montgomery, Alabama. She is also survived by her brother Richard MacDonald (Judy) of Niantic, Connecticut, her sister-in-law Toni Marsden (Jim) of Sister Bay, Wisconsin, and nieces Laura MacDonald of Connecticut, Dr. Amanda MacDonald (Ed Obarowski) of Long Island, New York, and Lori Brads (Jamey) of South Prince George, Virginia. Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents Avis and Melvin MacDonald of Wareham, Massachusetts, and her mother and father-in-law Lena and Chester Baranowski of Wareham, Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in memory of Jeannie Baranowski to First United Methodist Church of Montgomery, Alabama.

Family will receive friends at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, Alabama on Wednesday September 29th from 11:00 to 11:30 followed by a Graveside Service and Interment at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service at First United Methodist Church of Montgomery on October 1, 2021 with a visitation from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with the Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00 AM.
