Known for his deep faith, pride in his country and love for his family, he was a source of joy and laughter for all who knew him. Jay dedicated many years to his Pepperidge Farm franchise, earning the affectionate nicknames "The Pepperidge Farm Guy" and "The Cookie Man." His commitment to his business was only surpassed by his love for God, his family, his passion for Alabama football and being outdoors.
A true family man, Jay is survived by his loving wife, Kerry Roberts; daughters, Courtney Ward and Sydney Roberts; brother, Mark Roberts (Emily Roberts); sisters, Lynn Heaton (Steve Heaton) and Leigh Roll (Craig Roll); nephews, Jason Heaton (Elise Heaton) and Brandon Ledlow; niece, Kim Corzine and his cherished grandchildren, Allie and Troy Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Ruth Roberts, and his younger brother, Neal Roberts.
A memorial service will be held to honor Jay's life at Eastern Meadows Church of Christ on September 7th, 2024. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM and the service will be at 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, followed by a graveside service held at Hamilton Crossroads at 4:00 PM.
