Janice Johnson Stough

Janice Johnson Stough went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 16, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Janice was preceded in death by her son, John M. Thomas, Jr. and her father, Shaffer W. Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Cabott Stough; her mother, Carolyn B. Johnson; her son, Brian Thomas (Ashley); her step-children, Cathy Jones (Tim); Jody Stough (Angela); and Geoff Stough (Toni), all of Montgomery. She is also survived by her sisters, Julia Bradshaw (Jim) of Montgomery; Jackie Crum (Richard) of Point Clear; Carmen Johnson (Bo) of Lake Eufaula; Camille Aurelio (Jim) of Rincon, Georgia; and her brothers, Gary Johnson of Butler, Alabama; and Joel Johnson (Terri) of Wetumpka, Alabama. She loved spending time with her precious and adoring grandchildren, Madison, Hannah, Will, Emma, James, Grant, Katie, Zack, Emily, Josie, Sam, Zoe, and Meg; great-grandson, Luke; her furry companion, Lilly; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Janice attended and retired from Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church, where she loved and cherished her many co-workers and friends. She especially enjoyed her Sunday School Class, the Gold Tees, and her women’s circle, Friendship. Janice was a loving Wife, Mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and grandmother “Mimi”. A “joy carrier” her grace, poise, and spirit were an inspiration to everyone who knew her, and she will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 10:00AM – 12:00PM at Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church, with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 12:00PM with Dr. Tim Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Stough, John Starr, Ken Greenwood, Ben Wood, Laurens Pierce, and Jim Langford. Honorary pallbearer will be Oscar Harper.

In lieu of flowers, Janice requested donations be made to the Missions Teams at Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church or The Dr. John Ed Mathison Leadership Ministries, 4131 Carmichael Rd., Montgomery, Alabama 36106.
