James Lee Woodruff

WOODRUFF, James Lee 82, a resident of Coosada, died peacefully on September 4, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Woodruff and Gladys Knowles. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, June Woodruff, his daughter Joyce Woodruff (Mark), his sons, Alan Woodruff (Liz), Ricky Woodruff (Angie), David Woodruff (Diane), and Glen Woodruff (Kasi). He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. James was born in Crenshaw County and was raised in Montgomery. James began a career with the Montgomery Fire Department in 1965 and retired as District Chief after almost 22 years. James was a member of the Lord’s Church and attended Redland Road Church of Christ. James was a devoted husband, a caring father and grandfather that loved his family. His guidance and Christian example will be missed. Visitation will be held at Leak-Memory on Monday, September 12, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A celebration of life chapel service will occur Monday, September 12, 2022, at 11: AM. A graveside service will occur Monday, September 12, 2022 at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery.
