WOODHAM, James A., 74, of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. A native of Headland, AL, Jim quit school in 1962 to join the Navy. When he returned he began working with Deep South Construction in Columbus, GA. During this time is when he met his loving wife of 51 years. In 1961 he opened the old Standard Station on the Troy Hwy. and Jim Woodham’s Texaco in 1974, Southside Firestone in 1976, which moved to Troy Hwy. in 1986. He was an avid sports fan and loved coach Bear Bryant. He coached little league football and baseball for many years. Jim was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Savannah Woodham. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Woodham; three sons, Mark Woodham, Michael (Dee) Woodham and Matt (Davonna) Woodham; two sisters, Ruth (Frank) Settles; Ruby Grace (Don) Sanders; six grandchildren, Morgan, Jim, Jake, Austin, Chase, and Emily; one great grandchild, Beckham. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A special thanks to all of his loyal customers who supported him throughout his 50 years of service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
