James W. Helms, age 69 of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017. James was a dedicated member and deacon of Eastmont Baptist Church. He retired from U.S. Foodservice after 43 years of service. James was most passionate about his family who will dearly miss him. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Alvin and Tommie Lou Helms. James is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Dykes Helms; his five daughters, Amanda Helms, Rebecca Helms, Anita Helms, Rachel Mohling (Blake), and Kathryn Helms; his granddaughter, Lila Marie Mohling and twin granddaughters arriving in the spring Colbie Grace and Caylee Gentry Mohling; his siblings, Angie Winfield, Sandra Cochran, Sylvia McLendon (Tommy), and Durwood Helms (Jackie). The family will receive friends on Monday, January 30th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, January 31st at 2:00 pm at Alabama Heritage.
