Ilene Helen Collins

Ilene Helen Collins, 89, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2011 with her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren by her side. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at White Chapel Funeral Home in Montgomery, AL, with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow the service in Greenwood Cemetery. Ilene was born in Anniston, AL and lived many of her wonderful years in Montgomery where she raised her children and grandchildren. She was married for 49 years to Detective D.D. Collins and has now gone to be with him in Heaven. In her younger years she was a Manager at Kress Department store in downtown Montgomery. She was a member of Capitol Heights United Methodist Church and her focus from the beginning was always on her family. Ilene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her only daughter, Shirley Jean Temple (Lawrenceville, GA); her grandchildren, Dana Allen Temple (Montgomery, AL), Debra Fielder Knowles (Flowery Branch, GA), Frank Lee Temple III (Los Angeles, CA), Robin Dale Temple (Buford, GA) and Sherry Lynn Christian (Flowery Branch, GA); 8 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
