Hugh Edsel Harris

Mr. Harris was born April 18, 1937 in Hamilton, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Dalton Harris and Evie Lou Tice Harris, and his wife of 63 years, Frances Marie (Bearden) Harris, a brother, Edward Harris, and a sister, Evelyn Harris.

Hugh Edsel Harris, a veteran, retired from the United States Air Force as Technical Sergeant specializing in Aerospace Continuity and Warning Systems. During his twenty years of service he was stationed in Texas, Alaska, Massachusetts, Florida, and a year overseas at RTF AFB in Thailand.

Hugh Harris also worked for the United States Post Office for fifteen years, then retired again.

During his residence in Montgomery, Alabama, he was a member of the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge #173; becoming a 32nd degree Master Mason, he then became a Freemason with the Alcazar Shriner’s Grand Lodge.

Surviving are many nieces.

A graveside funeral service on Friday June 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Alabama Heritage Cemetery with arrangements by Dignity Memorial.
