Helen B. Stringer, age 94, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022. Helen was born in Montgomery, Alabama to Fayette Barron and Willie Johnson Barron. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Glen Stringer. Helen is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Don) Shaw of Wetumpka and Diane Rivers of Mobile; her grandchildren, Casey and Cory Shaw of Wetumpka, Ricky Shaw of Rockford, Wayne Rivers, Anji Stewart, Patrick Rivers and Peyton Rivers of Mobile; her great grandchildren, Abby Stewart, Shelby Stewart, Colby Foskey, Shiloh Braud, Hunter Shaw, TJ Shaw, Laken Armstrong and Brittnee Merryman; as well as her great grandchildren, Charlotte Foskey and Rylan Shaw.
A graduate of Lanier High School and a member of Eastmont Baptist Church, Mrs. Stringer will be remembered as a homemaker who loved her church and her family. As a mother and grandmother, she delighted in cooking for all of them, remembering everyone's favorite dish at Christmas time. Her "Mamaw's Jelly" was a prized gift among the grands who treasured the product as well as the love and care that went into making the jelly. Her memory will be treasured among her friends and family.
A family and friends visitation for Mrs. Stringer will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 11:00 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Alabama Heritage Cemetery, 10505 Atlanta Hwy., Montgomery, AL 36117.
