Harold's survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dorothy (Dot) Dilly, his son, Dennis (Darlene) Dilly of Chelsea, AL; and his daughter, Sherry (Terry) Bryant, of Montgomery; grandchildren, Jared (Jennifer) Dilly, Jason Dilly, Joel (Christina) Henderson, Patrick (Angela) Henderson, Max Bryant, Marlee Bryant and 6 great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Mildred Nichols and Louise Sexton. Also, Harold is survived by 4 brothers, Roy Dilly, Richard (Tess) Dilly, Franklin (Cathy) Dilly and David (Patty) Dilly; and 7 sisters, Betty (Dave) Buxton, Mary (Craig) Ross, Trecia Atwood, Laura (Henry) Grogro, Kathryn (Jeffrey) Cunningham, Connie (James) Bratton, and Michelle Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Dilly, of Beckley, WV; and his stepmother, Mae Dilly, of Coshocton, OH.
Harold was born in Beckley, WV. He was an Air Force Veteran and moved to Montgomery, AL in 1954, where he met and married the love of his life, Dot Dilly, in 1955. He was a great Christian family man and a loving father/grandfather/great-grandfather/son/brother.
Harold enjoyed gardening, and his greatest joy was fishing with his children and grandchildren. His family and friends will always remember him as humorous, fun-loving.
Visitation with family and friends will be Friday, October 30, 2015 at Leak-Memory Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00pm. Additional viewing will be provided in the sanctuary at Danielville Baptist Church, Honoraville, AL on Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jim Looney and Pastor Joe Leverette officiating followed by the burial at Danielville Baptist Church Cemetery.
