Born on August 11, 1943 in Montgomery, AL to Guy Elmore Vickers, Sr. and Nondis Parker Vickers, Guy’s caring and supportive nature made him beloved by all who knew him. His family and friends loved his kindness, his positive “can do” attitude, and his humor. Guy started his education at Morningview Elementary and progressed to Robert E. Lee High School. His love of music and playing the alto saxophone led him to perform in the Robert E. Lee Marching Band and lead the Lancers, a student dance band under the direction of Mr. Johnny Long.
Guy went on to attend the University of Alabama, where he played the alto saxophone in the Million Dollar Band. He was an alumnus of Kappa Sigma and lifelong fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
After earning a B.S. in Commerce & Business Administration in May of 1968, Guy started a successful career in medical equipment sales. Always a top performer, Guy was especially known for a keen ability to grow and nurture meaningful customer relationships with new accounts.
Guy loved gathering with family and friends over a great holiday meal. He had a special ability to infuse humor into situations, bringing joy and laughter to all. Thank you to his beloved Cousins, Susan and Elie Smeen, (and sons Elie Jr. and John) for sharing their warm home with him for many holidays. A very special thanks to our dear Cousin Susan for her heartfelt outpouring of support and love to our Family during this time.
