He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Lee Robertson, Sr & Clois Lisenby Robertson; wife, Pattie Goodall Robertson; sister, Betty Robertson Gilmore and brother-in-love Daniel Bankhead Gilmore, Jr; sister-in-love Eunice Goodall, brother-in-love Dr. Albert Gordon Goodall and his first wife, Bebe Clark Goodall, Sister-in-love, Carol Goodall, niece Lori Goodall.
He is survived by his children: Pattie Lynn (Alex) Neese; Lee (Lucy) Robertson & Bruce (Beth) Robertson; his grandchildren: Taylor (Lynne) Cobb, Twila Robertson, Noel Robertson, Nicholas Neese, Ashleigh Neese, Bailey Robertson, and Braydon Robertson; 14 nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Gordon received an Electrical Engineering degree in 1959 from Alabama Polytechnical Institute (now known as Auburn University) followed by a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1960 from Auburn University. He went on to use these degrees for almost 30 years in his career with Alabama Power Company before retiring and traveling for 18 years with his sweetheart, Pattie, in their Avion travel trailer and seeing all the wonders of the United States.
As a man of many talents, he enjoyed making leather creations, baking bread, making wine & candles, and serving his homemade biscuits every Sunday for his family. He was an active member in his Churches, singing in the choir, and was highly involved in the Walk to Emmaus program. He enjoyed camping with his family, especially in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park and cheering on his beloved Auburn Tigers, WAR EAGLE!!
A celebration of his life will be held on August 6th at 11 am at the Frazer Church Chapel, 6000 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
