Their small family moved to Aloha, Oregon where she spent her formative years. She graduated from Sunset High School in Beaverton in 1973. In the spring of 1975, she enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Financial Specialist, honorably serving nine years. She proudly separated in 1984 as a Computer Operator, Small Arms Expert, and having served on an overseas long tour.
Her military assignments took her to Patrick AFB, Florida, Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, and Hahn AB, Germany. She met Mark Allen at Hahn AB, and they wed in Basil, Switzerland in 1984. After her military service, she continued to serve her country through civil service and contractor positions all over the world.
Mom loved the outdoors, she loved music, she loved her extended family, but she especially doted over her 6 grandchildren. She was adventurous, quick with advice and always there whenever needed for all.
Ginger is survived by: Mark, her husband of 38 years; daughter Kristi (and Bill) Dangutis of Waterford, Wisconsin; son Alex (and Julia) Schreiber of Montgomery, Alabama; son Billy (and Rosalia) Burgan of Navarre Beach, Florida; Mother Iva Dean Johnson of Arlington, Washington; sister Kristi Keskin of Arlington, Washington; and Grandmother, Doris Schreiber of Montgomery, Alabama. Ginger was especially proud of her six grandchildren: Kade, Michael, and Cai Burgan; Braydie Dangutis; Aidan and Josie Schreiber.
Ginger was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lowery, and father-in-law, Edwin Schreiber.
Funeral services and interment will be held privately at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, she requests donations to the USO and the Wounded Warrior Project. Both served her and her family faithfully for almost half a century of Military and Government service.
