George William (Bill) Connell

George William (Bill) Connell passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 28, 2022 at the age of 80.

He was a Senior Vice President of Marketing in the commercial division of Palomar Insurance. He was an usher at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Montgomery, Alabama, a long-time golfer at Arrowhead Country Club, and an avid hunter.

Bill is survived by his wife, Pat Sellers Connell of 53 years; children: Jay (Lisa) Connell, Cindy Connell and Buddy (Amy) Connell. Grandchildren: Michele Sims Clark, Jaycie Connell, John Connell, Danielle Adams, Josie Connell, Anna Connell. Brother Skip (Mary Duke) Connell, Sister Jane (Jerry) King; Sisters-in-Law Dutchie Sellers Riggsby and Debbie Sellers (Rob) Starr. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bobbye Connell of Shelbyville, Kentucky. Pallbearers: Rob Starr, Oscar Gonzalez, Andy Coker, Tony Craft, Brian Ford and Bill Gunter. Honorary Pallbearers: Jackie Harbuck, Jean Ann Donley, Clyde Jinwright, Richard Duck, Bobby Longshore and Palomar employees.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm, at Alabama Heritage with Father Maria Doss of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Montgomery, Alabama and Steve Boston of Centerpoint Fellowship Church, Prattville, Alabama officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 3, 2022 between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm and one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
