

George Olin Crapps, age 73 passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday March 20, 2022. George was born January 17, 1949 in Montgomery, Alabama to Marvin Daniel (Dan) and Virginia Copeland Crapps. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life, Mary Lucy, on April14,1972.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lucy Crapps; parents, Marvin Daniel (Dan) and Virginia Copeland Crapps; step-mother, Julene Crapps; his brother, Marvin Daniel (Danny) Crapps, Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Helen Furlow, and his niece, Virginia Danielle Lassiter.
He is survived by his sisters, Susan Lassiter (Bill) and Cathy Mobley (Alan); sister-in-law Carol Crapps, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hank and Sherry Furlow, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. George was a faithful member of the University Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Andy Crapps, Aaron Crapps, Billy Lassiter, Cole Lassiter, Austin Lassiter, Bruce Lawler, Danny Earle, Devin Smith, Brian Smith. Services will be officiated by his nephew, George Ryan Lassiter and his Pastor, Randy Medlin.
Family and friends visitation is scheduled for Sunday March 27 at 1pm with Celebration of Life Service held at Leak Memory Chapel at 2:30 with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
