He was best known by his family and friends as: Popa, Popa Dud, Big Dud, and Buddy. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Juanita Tatum Gordon, 2 sons and daughter-in-laws: Richard Dudley Gordon (Grace) Elberta, AL, Frank Dudley Gordon III (Stephanie) Prattville, AL, 2 daughters and son-in-laws: Amy Gordon Dye (Jesse) Montgomery, AL, Debby Gordon Pouncey (C.P.) Birmingham, AL, 3 brothers: Pat, John, and Mark Gordon, 1 sister: Bobby Samuel, 4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters, 1 great granddaughter and 6 great grandsons, a host of nieces and nephews, brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws.
Dudley had a big personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation. His laugh was infectious to anyone around him. He loved football, riding motorcycles, country music, Roll Tide Roll, watching his grandchildren play volleyball, football and fishing. He also enjoyed laughs with the Neighborhood Fat Boy Club.
Dudley was a truly loved man whose impact will be forever felt by his family. His passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones.
Celebration of life: Leak Memory Chapel on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 2 PM. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
