Frances Lucille Manning, age 95, of Foley, Alabama passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Live Oak Assisted Living Facility. Frances was born December 28, 1925 in Shady Grove, Alabama to Lewis Rivers Fannin and Erin Dendy Fannin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Robert Emmett Manning, Jr.; her daughter Kathy Hamlin; her siblings Alice (Manley) Green, Mary (Walter) Whitaker, Rivers (Hilda) Fannin and her brother-in-law Billy Chandler. She is survived by her daughter Alice (Chuck) Shaw of Dawsonville, GA and her son Robert (Marsha) Manning of Foley, AL as well as her grandchildren Rebecca (Mark) Petkewich, Stephanie (Adam) Pratt, Michael (Lindsey) Manning, Kimberly (Justin) Caudill and Justin (Allison) Lumsden; 9 great grandchildren and her siblings William (Nell) Fannin of Troy, Julie Chandler, and Oren (Leshia) Fannin.
Growing up near Troy, Alabama, Frances graduated from Shellhorn High School. Later she worked 5 years as an elementary school secretary and was promoted to a role within the board of education. Her main occupation was homemaker. Frances is referred to by her family as a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
A visitation for Frances will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 1:30 PM. Services will conclude with a private family burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
