Farley Amansec Illarmo (71), a resident of Wetumpka, Alabama, entered eternal peace on May 31, 2023. Farley was born August 28, 1951, in Manila, Philippines, to the late John Funtila and Julieta Amansec Illarmo. Farley's family moved to Guam when he was 6 months old. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and attended the University of Guam for two years. In June 1978, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and was assigned to the Air Force Academy, Colorado. He was later assigned to Kunsan Air Base, South Korea, and Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex, Alabama. He received numerous decorations throughout his military career, including the Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Ribbon, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, the Meritorious Service Meal, and the National Defense Service Medal for his support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked in the U.S. Government Civil Service as a GS-12 computer analyst.
While in the Air Force, Farley received his bachelor's degree from Regis College, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He received his master's degree from Troy State University, Montgomery, Alabama.
Farley is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dianne Illarmo; brother, John Illarmo (Catherine), of Mangilao, Guam; sister, Debra Drayton (Rick) of Kauai, Hawaii; brother-in-law, Glenn Darter of Wetumpka; stepmother, Emilie Illarmo, stepbrothers Jimmy Illarmo, Dennis Illarmo; stepsisters, Maribeth Tan, Marilou Abad, Marijane Rogan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Farley is a member of Mulder Church at 3454 Firetower Road, Wetumpka, Alabama. He loved to garden and to share the bounty with friends and neighbors. He also loved traveling and watching action movies.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mulder Church building fund.
Friends are cordially invited to a committal service on Friday, June 23, 2023 at eleven in the morning at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
