With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Everett Robinson Marshall, a loving father, papa, and friend to many, and a devoted husband of 53 years. Everett passed away surrounded by his family in Montgomery, Alabama on May 17th. He was 72 years old.
Everett was the 3rd son of Warren and Allene Marshall. He was a lifelong resident of Montgomery, Alabama, although in recent years Everett spent more time in Destin, Florida to be near his grandchildren.
Everett is survived by his mother Allene Marshall, his wife Sandy of 53 years, and their four daughters, Laura Baird (Joe), Jennifer Hewitt (Mike), Shannon Marshall, and Robin Blair (Andy). Everett had 10 grandchildren; Issey, Gracie, Mikayla, Jackson, Sofie, Kendall, Gianna, Allene, Landon, and Abby.
Everett lived a full life as a wonderful husband and father, a committed businessman, and an adventurous grandfather. Everett was a graduate of Robert E Lee High school, where he played football. He attended Auburn University and graduated with a degree in business and accounting. Everett was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. In his early life, Everett worked as a Certified Public Accountant at Jackson & Thornton. Everett was the sole owner of E Marshall Construction for over 20 years, and was known by many for his work ethic and dedication.
Everett could do anything he set his mind to, and he moved through life with determination and faith in the Lord. He was a devout Christian, a lover of nature and all things outdoors, and a skilled woodworker. He was the back to back champion of the Wild Game Cook-off in the 90s, a captivating story teller, and the fierce protector of our family. In our eyes, there was nothing Papa couldn’t do. While Everett wore many hats throughout his life, his favorite role was being “Papa.” He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, and especially enjoyed beach vacations and bonfires.
Everett was known to be both tough and caring; both strong and sweet. He frequently took his grandchildren on adventures, and loved to show them his job sites, take them hiking, and made great efforts to visit them no matter how far away.
Everett loved fireworks, crab hunting, and snorkeling with his grandkids. He had many hobbies, and especially loved tinkering on go-carts for his grandchildren. Most of all he loved his family, and instilled good values in his children and grandchildren that have served them well. Everett will be remembered for his grit, humor, and loving spirit. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Everett’s life will be held at Frazier Church (main sanctuary), on May 25th, beginning with a 10am visitation followed by a service at 11am.
We ask that you take your kids or grandkids on an adventure in memory of our Papa.
