Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2021, at Greenwood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather for graveside visitation at 1:15 p.m. prior to the service.
Evelyn was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Montgomery, Ala., to Allen and Rachel Dorris. She grew up in the Capitol Heights neighborhood and attended Montgomery public schools, graduating from Sidney Lanier High School in 1949. A student of the violin from a young age, Evelyn was a member of the orchestra at Lanier. Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother and created a warm, loving home for her family. Outgoing, sweet and fun, she delighted in the company of many close friends throughout her life. In addition to family and friends, her many loves included playing cards, RVing, fishing, tailgating, and cooking.
Evelyn was predeceased by brothers Ben and Sam Dorris, sisters Jessie Dorris Fitzpatrick and Margaret Dorris Flory, and by her beloved pup, Lucy.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Philip Berney Teague Jr. and wife Lana, John Anthony (Tony) Teague, and Dorris Teague. She was Granny to Lisa Teague and Amy Teague Balagbagan and great-grandmother to four.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Elmore County Humane Society.
