Elizabeth Ann Wilkins (Betty) Madison was born on a sunny day, as the saying goes, on March 1, 1930. She was the only child of Opal Eleanor Wilkins and John C Wilkins who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Campbell Madison and her son Donald Gordon Madison. She is survived by her son, Daniel Wilkins Madison, her daughter Elizabeth Madison (Sills), son in law Carl E Sills III, and her grandchildren Mat, William and Eleanor.
Betty worked many years for the State Department of Pensions and Security or later known as Human Resources where she made lasting friendships. When she moved out to the country, Betty was truly in her element. She enjoyed nothing more than bird watching, and reading looking out at the green pastures. She and her granddaughter had a bird identification book and during their visits together they delighted in identifying the birds together. She will always be remembered for hosting great family reunions and making everybody feel welcomed and loved.
Graveside services, with Aaron Fleming presiding, will be held at 11:00am on Saturday October 17th at White Chapel-Greenwood Cemetery.
