She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson; her brother, Sonny Odell; her sisters, Dorothy Wall and Mary Lou Odell; and her son, Don Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bell; her son, Robert (Sarah) Johnson, Jr.; her grandchildren, Michael (Paula)Fleming , Marcus (Becky)Fleming , Joel(Pam) Johnson , Michelle(Cliff) Trumbly ; and eight great grandchildren.
Edith was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church, and years later, a faithful member of McGehee Road Baptist Church and then Heritage Baptist Church. She was known around town as THE Avon lady and sold Avon to the people of Montgomery for over 50 years. Selling Avon was how she met her husband, Robert Johnson. She enjoyed traveling and lived in several different locations throughout her life. She lived in Japan during the Korean War, and also lived in San Francisco and in Maryland.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Leak Memory Chapel at 1:00pm with a Memorial Service at 2:00pm. Rev. Neal Hughes will be officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery following the service.
