Dottie Ruth Hill

Dottie Ruth Jones Hill, age 84, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Bryant C. Hill; her parents, James & Minnie Jones; and her siblings, Grace Maddox, Sadie Maddox, Virginia Holland, Agnes Milligan, Paul Jones, Arnold Jones, and June Jones.

Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Montoya (John), Tracy Herring (Claude); and one grandson, Cody Herring; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Dottie retired from the Montgomery Board of Education as Lunchroom Manager. She enjoyed yardwork and vacationing in Gatlinburg. She loved playing games and spending time with her family at their place on Lake Martin. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be at Leak Memory Chapel on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 with a Chapel Service at 11:00am with Pastor Jed Carnes officiating. Due to Covid-19 and social restrictions, no visitation will be observed. A private burial will be at Greenwood Serenity Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be John Montoya, Claude Herring, Cody Herring, Tyler Hill, Trent Hill, and Ricky Maddox.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Dottie Hill. The family would like to extend a word of gratitude to Comfort Care hospice for their kindness and care.
