Dora Bell Holt

Dora Bell Holt, age 90, a resident of Prattville, Alabama, passed away November 2, 2023. Dora was born in Geneva, Alabama and moved to the Prattville area in her early 30s. She was a devoted member of Beacon of Hope Church of God for 10 years. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles and playing dominoes with her church ladies at the Crump Center. She loved bowling at Jim’s restaurant. She also loved her family very much, especially her grandkids.

Dora is preceded in death by her parents, Admiral Dewey and Dorothy Phelps; her brother, Eugene Phelps; and her husband, Joseph Holt.

She is survived by her sisters, Gussie Lou Chavers and Ann Cannon; her children, Carlos (Margaret) Whitt Denson Jr. and Sheila (Gene) Gail Conway; her grandchildren, Becky Byrd, Leah Goodrich, Sarah Golden, Tara Newton, Paul Turney, and Sissy Lucas; and her 17 great-grandchildren.

A Visitation for Dora’s family and friends will be held Monday, November 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 11:00 AM and burial in Greenwood Cemetery immediately following.
