Donna C. Hunter of Montgomery, AL passed away on March 13, 2023, after battling cancer for the last few years. Donna spent her days and nights reading her bible and scriptural and inspirational books. She knew and lived by the Holy Scriptures. One of her favorite scriptures was: “Rejoice in the Lord always. Rejoice. Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving make your requests known to GOD. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:4-7 NIV. She was truly a lady who loved Jesus and her sons. Donna rarely met a stranger and wanted anyone she met to know Jesus is a friend indeed to one in need. She had an eye for fashion and interior design. In her younger days she enjoyed traveling with her husband and boys. She provided a home to rescued cats and dogs over the years, but mostly she loved people. She also enjoyed beautiful flowers and found peace in planting all species of flowers in yard. Donna, an impoverished child from Mississippi, made Montgomery her home and worked her way up to Executive Assistant at a bank, where she met her loving husband of many years, Charles B. Hunter, who predeceased her in death. Donna is also preceded in death by her son, Joshua D. Hunter; her brother, Donald Clark; her sister, Dianne Lloyd McRae; and her parents, Calvin and Ruth Clark. She is survived by her loving son William Hunter. Donna loved and appreciated Mona and all the caregivers who cared for her these last few years. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 2:00 pm for family and friends at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, 10505 Atlanta Hwy in Montgomery, AL 36117, with Pastor Gene Ziesel officiating.
