On July 9th, 2023, Delores Mills went to walk with angels and passed away peacefully in her sleep at age 71 after a long battle with cancer. Delores was the mother of three children. Many people considered Delores a significant mother figure as she dedicated her whole life to serving others and putting others' needs first before her own.
Delores had a true passion for flowers, plants, and floral design. Her occupation for over 40 years was a florist in the Montgomery community at Bruno's, Publix & US Foods Market Store.
Delores is survived by her two daughters Laurie Johnston (Mike), Jennifer Engel, her son Rick Mills Jr. (Shannon), and four grandchildren Jon Engel, Michael Johnston Jr., Anna Gilmore (Alan), and James Hall along with her sisters Vivian Cooper (Johnie), Terry Gordon, and her brother Doyle Gordon. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Allen Mills Sr.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2pm at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 3pm.
