Debra Goertz Hanson

Hanson, Debra Goertz (Debbie), a resident of Montgomery, passed away August 18, 2019 at the age of 60. Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Saturday, August 24 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jim Ingram officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery. Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, John Hanson, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Destin Hanson Priester (Brian); son, John Richard Hanson, III; and grandchildren, Linkin and Levi Priester. Other family members include her mother and step-father, Joyce and James McGinty; father, Ron Goertz (Edye); sister, Janet Shellman (George); brother, Buddy Goertz (Susan); sisters-in-law, Vickie Hendricks (Jim), and Tara Dubois (Marvin) seven nephews; four nieces; five great-nephews and eight great-nieces and her best friend, Julie Beard. Pallbearers are Hanson Dubois, Aaron Dubois, Turner Faulkner, James Glass, Ben Goertz, Chip Handley, Aaron Ramer and Matthew Waycaster. Honorary pallbearers are Caleb Goertz and Jacob Goertz. A special thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Montgomery Cancer Center for their special care throughout this last year. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21.
