ROSS, Daniel Earl, 49, a longtime resident of Montgomery, died June 30, 2017 in the waters of Gulf Shores, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanny Dale Ross and Geraldyne Hutchinson Ross. He is survived by his brother, Michael Dale Ross and his wife Hilary Howard Ross; nephews Hunter Duncan Ross and Charles Owen Ross; a niece, Margaret Addison Ross. Daniel was born in Selma, Alabama on September 24, 1967. He graduated from Montgomery Catholic High School and attended Troy State University. As a young man, he excelled at many sports, including basketball, baseball, and golf. Using his love of golf, he began his career as a golf professional at the former Rolling Hills Country Club. However, his two favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing, which was a passion he shared with his father as such and avid hunter and fisherman whose skills with the gun and rod were paralleled by none other than his old man. “Danny” was a car salesman extraordinaire at A & P Automotive. He was loved by many, and known for his infectious personality, positive attitude, selfless willingness to serve others, and engaging smile. A celebration of his life will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017. Visitation will be held prior from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. A private burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
