Daniel L. Reynolds III, long-time resident of Montgomery, Alabama, peacefully left this life for his Heavenly home on Friday, January 8, 2021. He was a devoted and beloved son, brother, uncle, husband, and father. Dan was proud to serve in the Army during WWII and cherished his country always.
Born in White Pine, Tennessee, Dan was an ardent Vols fan his entire life. He enjoyed golf, horse racing, college and professional sports.
Dan began his lengthy retail career with the JCPenney Company in Knoxville. After leaving JCPenney, he opened retail shops in Huntsville and Decatur AL, but remained in touch with many of his Penney family until recently.
Following retirement from retail, Dan became active in Alabama politics, volunteering in numerous campaigns.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel L. Jr. and Marion L. Reynolds; his wife of 65 years, Nan Fisher Reynolds; his sister Mary R. McNabb; and his brother, Joseph Reynolds.
He is survived by two children, Ann (Paul) Gillmore, and Daniel L. Reynolds IV; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth McNabb Norris (Craig), Stan and Allie Norris, William R. McNabb, and Emily McNabb Kirkpatrick.
Out of concern for family and friends due to COVID-19, no service will be held at this time.
